Software as a Service (SaaS)

Software as a Service (SaaS) is a way of delivering applications over the internet as a service. SaaS allows your users to access your cloud-based apps over the Internet. Instead of installing and maintaining software, your users can access your apps via the internet, which means they do not have to deal with complex software or hardware management.

The advantages of Saas are:

- No hardware dependency

- No update cost

- Scalability

- Accessibility

Unlike traditional software sold as a license with an up-front cost, the team at Tentacle Solutions can develop an application that charges your users a subscription fee, most commonly a monthly or an annual fee. Consequently, the initial setup cost for SaaS is typically lower than the equivalent enterprise software. The team in Glasgow can help price your applications based on usage parameters, such as the number of users using the application.

Yet, it is not a one-fits-all solution. There are niche processes and business models that simply don’t work with SaaS yet - like engineering parts for the space industry or operating sawmills in the depth of a forest with no internet connection. Those probably will remain with on-the-premises software for the foreseeable future. For anything else, an experienced developing house, like the team at Tentacle Solutions, will come up with a solution.
