Cache
One of the phrases our account managers at Tentacle are most likely to say to their clients during a testing stage is “please clear your cache”. So, what exactly is a cache?
The cache in your browser is a reserved storage location that collects temporary data to help your website load faster. Any device with a browser, be it a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone, will use some variation of a cache. In this cache, the browser saves all items used multiple times, such as images, scripts, style sheets, etc, so your device does not have to re-download them for future navigation.
Although there are clear benefits for caching, such as improved application performance and reduced bandwidth consumption, there are some drawbacks, like when our clients view a web page that is not well updated.
